A principle of Shiatsu - that the work invites the receiver to come closer to their own wholeness and balance - was one of the first things I learned in my studies, and I love the door it opened - to see the physical body as a threshold to our deepest selves.

My path to practicing shiatsu has been rich and varied. From my time as a medical practitioner I learned how meeting people on their health journey is as much an encounter with a whole person, as it is about the particulars of their health needs. From my time as a furniture maker I discovered a love of working with my hands. From living with children of my own I’m learning about presence and deep listening. From painting I found a way to express in images those aspects of life that can’t be put in to words.

Studying shiatsu therapy at the Australian Shiatsu College connected all paths. It has been to embark on a journey towards vast and ancient bodies of wisdom. The territory feels infinite. My hands are my instrument. My map - our human form: ever repeated in us all / ever reflected in the natural world / ever entirely unique.
